Starting July 22, the cost of a single trip on the Kyiv Ring Railway will be aligned with the fares for public transport in Kyiv, ranging from 30 to 37 UAH depending on the purchase method.
This was announced by JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” on Facebook, as reported by Ukrinform.
The company explained that the Kyiv Ring Railway transports tens of thousands of passengers daily, facilitating their quick commutes to work, studies, or home.
However, the expenses for maintaining and repairing trains, ensuring their operation, and covering electricity costs are continuously increasing, and ticket sales revenue is no longer sufficient to cover these expenditures.
The situation is further complicated by the fact that the city has not been compensating Ukrzaliznytsia for the costs of transporting privileged categories of passengers since 2021. As of the beginning of 2026, this debt has already exceeded 10 million UAH.
“Therefore, we are compelled to revise the fare and bring it to the level of public transport fares in Kyiv. Moreover, unlike public transport, where fares have increased almost fourfold, the fare for the Kyiv Ring Railway is only doubling,” the company stated.
From July 22, a Kyiv City Express ticket will cost:
- 30 UAH – via Ukrzaliznytsia and “Kyiv Tsifrovyi” apps;
- 34.20 UAH – when paying through validators or “Kyiv Tsifrovyi” self-service terminals;
- 36.70 UAH – at Ukrzaliznytsia self-service terminals;
- 37 UAH – at ticket offices or from a mobile cashier on board.
All existing passenger benefits will remain in effect, UZ noted. Students will continue to purchase tickets at a discounted rate through the Ukrzaliznytsia app, while veterans and pensioners can obtain free travel documents at ticket offices.

Additionally, travel passes or subscriptions are planned to be introduced for passengers who regularly use the city’s electric train service.
As reported, the fare for public land and underground passenger transport in Kyiv increased to 30 UAH starting from July 15.
