The official announcement came from the Zuffa Boxing promotion, which is organizing this encounter.
This 10-round bout will headline the preliminary card at the Zuffa Boxing 09 event, scheduled for July 26th at the Infosys Theatre within Madison Square Garden in New York.
For the 31-year-old Ukrainian, this marks his first fight since his sole professional defeat, which he suffered in July 2025 against Britain’s Solomon Dacres on the undercard of the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois.
The 35-year-old Wallin last competed in November of the previous year, where he secured a second-round knockout victory over American Chris Thomas.
In February 2025, the Swedish boxer experienced a loss to Britain’s Dereck Chisora via unanimous decision. Following this, Otto had contemplated retiring from the sport.
It is worth noting that Wallin has previously faced top heavyweight contenders. In 2019, he fought against Britain’s Tyson Fury, losing by points, and in 2023, he was defeated by Britain’s Anthony Joshua by technical knockout in the fifth round.
Another Ukrainian fighter, Sergiy Derevyanchenko (15-6, 10 KOs), will also be participating in the same boxing night, facing American Jailon Hackett (12-1, 9 KOs) in the ring.
Previously, it was reported that Usyk relinquished all his heavyweight world titles.
