The command of the 427th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Systems “Rarog” has officially commented on the statements of a serviceman who claimed that after participating in a rally in support of former Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov, he faced pressure, was declared as having gone AWOL (self-willed absence from unit), and also encountered threats.

The command’s statement emphasizes that the military unit “respects the civic stance of every Ukrainian and serviceman” and does not persecute fighters “for expressing their own opinion or civic position.”
According to the command’s version, the serviceman, known on social media as yavor-rarog, voluntarily left his duty post during a shift at the permanent deployment point and did not inform the command about his intention to participate in the protest rally.
“The commander of the military unit established the fact of voluntary abandonment of the duty post, after which, in accordance with the procedure defined by law, relevant materials were processed and information about the serviceman was submitted as having voluntarily left the military unit,” the statement reads.
The brigade also claims that this was not the first such incident.
“This is the third case of voluntary abandonment of service in the last three weeks,” the command noted.
Furthermore, “Rarog” stated that the serviceman had previously repeatedly violated military discipline, refused to follow commanders’ orders in the combat zone, which is why he was transferred to the permanent deployment point for non-combat tasks.
The brigade reported that legal procedures are currently underway regarding the fact of possible voluntary abandonment of the military unit, and the final legal assessment of the soldier’s actions is to be provided by law enforcement agencies.
Recall that earlier the serviceman himself stated on social networks that after participating in the first day of protests against the dismissal of Mykhailo Fedorov, he was groundlessly declared AWOL. He also claimed that he was taken to the military law enforcement service, handcuffed, and threatened with being sent to “Skela” and “nullified.” According to the soldier, on the day of the rally, he had a day off after the previous duty and was not informed about a new assignment.
