In the early hours of June 27th, Ukraine launched a “Flamingo” missile strike targeting a strategic site in the city of Volgograd. This Russian defense facility is instrumental in their war effort, rendering it a legitimate target for Kyiv’s long-range measures.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Head of State provided details regarding the nighttime strike involving FP-5 “Flamingo” missiles, which hit a major Russian industrial complex, “Titan-Barrikady,” in Volgograd. According to the president, direct hits were confirmed, followed by a fire breaking out on the factory grounds.
This enterprise is involved in the manufacturing of artillery systems and special military equipment, including components for missile launch systems.
“The geography of Ukrainian long-range measures is continuously expanding. It is precisely our pressure that lays the groundwork each day for the eventual achievement of a dignified peace. I am grateful to every Ukrainian engineer and soldier who ensures our reach,” stated Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Explosions were heard in Volgograd, Russia, during the night of June 27th. Local authorities declared a missile threat, and Rosaviatsia restricted airport operations. An attack occurred in the city targeting an enterprise belonging to the Russian military-industrial complex.
Serhiy Sternenko, an advisor to the Minister of Defense, confirmed that “Flamingo” missiles struck a strategic facility within the Russian Federation. Three crucial objects located directly on the factory premises were hit. Damage was sustained by workshop No. 2, the production building of workshop No. 38, and another workshop whose purpose is currently being determined.
