The President and the Prime Minister discussed the reshuffling of ministry heads and preparations for winter.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held his first working meeting with the new Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi. In addition to discussing candidates to replace Mykhailo Fedorov, key topics of the meeting included personnel decisions in the diplomatic and defense sectors, as well as the country’s readiness for the cold season.
Acting Ministers and the Heating Season
Following the meeting, the president outlined the main tasks currently facing the government:

Appointment of acting ministers: Zelenskyy and Koretskyi discussed candidates for the positions of acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Minister of Defense of Ukraine. The names of potential leaders have not yet been disclosed.
Although presidential advisor on communications Dmytro Lytvyn told journalists that Andrii Sybiha would become the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. According to Lytvyn, changes are also planned among the deputy ministers of the MFA.

Energy security: The issue of preparing infrastructure for the cold weather has been identified as the most important task for the new Cabinet in the immediate future.
“A critical priority is preparation for the heating season,” emphasized Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In the near future, the government is to present a step-by-step action plan for ensuring a stable winter period and protecting energy facilities.
It is recalled that in Kyiv on July 17, people protested for the second day in a row against the resignation of Mykhailo Fedorov from the post of Minister of Defense. Demonstrators stated that they were ready to take to the streets until the authorities heard them.
It should be noted that Mykhailo Fedorov made a series of high-profile statements after his resignation. The former head of the Ministry of Defense demands the rejection of the “baton method” in mobilization and personnel changes in the General Staff.
