Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin made a series of cynical statements regarding the war against Ukraine, emphasizing supposed successes of the Russian army on the battlefield.
The Kremlin leader, who held a briefing on Friday, May 29, is quoted by Russian propagandists.
He declared that naming precise deadlines for the conclusion of the so-called “special military operation” during active combat is allegedly “imprudent.”
Concurrently, Putin asserted that the situation at the front, in his opinion, is unfolding in a manner that allows Russia to speak of the “possibility of a swift resolution to the conflict,” effectively assessing the dynamics of hostilities as favorable to the Russian military.
“You see that our troops are advancing in all directions every single day,” the president of the aggressor state confidently stated.
He also noted that contacts concerning Ukraine allegedly persist, but comprehensive negotiations are not currently underway.
According to Putin, Russia “is ready for negotiations” and does not renounce them in the future.
The Russian Federation president’s statements came against the backdrop of a front-line situation that does not corroborate the “successful offensive” of the Russian occupation army or the imminent end of the war.

Recall that after Russia’s shortest-ever military parade on May 9, Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin unexpectedly announced that the war in Ukraine was allegedly rapidly approaching its conclusion.
Analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) believe that the Russian dictator has a distorted perception of his troops’ “successes” in Ukraine because he is being lied to about the situation on the front.
Earlier, the publication Bild identified three main factors that are turning the war into a war of attrition and a serious problem for the Kremlin.
