Ukrainian producers have commenced the harvest of open-field blueberries. Wholesale prices are ranging from 380–450 UAH per kilogram, marking a 27% increase compared to the previous season.

Ukrainian growers have initiated the collection of the first open-ground blueberry yield. Similar to last year, the season commenced in early July; however, consumers will face notably higher costs for the berries this year.

Blueberry Pricing – Wholesale Rates
Currently, the supply of Ukrainian blueberries in the market remains restricted, while buyer demand is consistently robust.
Presently, wholesale prices for the initial batches of berries fluctuate between 380–450 UAH per kg, which equates to approximately $8.49–$10.05. It is anticipated that Ukrainian farms will begin large-scale deliveries as early as next week, which could potentially influence the market dynamics.
Experts observe that at the commencement of the 2026 season, blueberries are priced, on average, 27% higher than during the corresponding period last year.
Reasons for the Price Increase
Producers attribute the price hike to unfavorable weather conditions that impacted crop yields. Due to weather patterns during the berry ripening phase, the overall blueberry harvest was reduced, leading to a diminished supply and subsequent price escalation.
Specialists speculate that as harvest volumes increase and more produce enters the market, the pricing situation might shift. Nevertheless, blueberries currently remain among the most expensive seasonal fruits in Ukraine.
As a reminder, gardeners are permitted to sell their self-grown agricultural products without paying taxes, provided they adhere to the limits stipulated by the Tax Code.
