An acclaimed ufologist suggests that the Mars rover captured ruins of a structure with a doorway, resembling an ancient dwelling of intelligent beings.

NASA’s Curiosity rover has taken a photograph that has ignited a fresh wave of debate about the existence of extraterrestrial life: in the image, some researchers claim to have spotted the remnants of an ancient structure with a doorway.
This is reported by the Daily Mail.
Last month, Curiosity captured a panoramic shot inside Gale Crater, an impact basin approximately 154 kilometers wide, where the rover has been operating since its landing on Mars in 2012.
Amidst the desolate landscape, some observers have pointed out an object that, in their opinion, resembles a structure with a doorway, akin to an ancient habitat for intelligent beings.

The theory about the extraterrestrial origin of the object was proposed by Scott C. Waring from UFO Sightings Daily. According to him, the object looks like a structure “made of a material similar to clay plaster.”
“What appears to be carved boulders are actually walls made of clay-like material and an entrance created by intelligent beings who needed protection from the elements. Such structures existed on Earth in ancient times, and similar ones existed on Mars long ago,” he stated.
When asked about the probability of the object’s artificial origin, Waring responded unequivocally: “The chances that this structure was created by intelligent beings… are 100%.”
NASA’s Explanation
The space agency has not yet commented on this specific photograph, however, in 2022, it provided a response to similar claims after Curiosity photographed a comparable object.
“This hill on Mount Sharp has a series of natural open fissures, including one about 30 centimeters high and 40 centimeters wide, resembling a dog door in size. These types of open fissures are common in bedrock both on Earth and on Mars,” NASA stated at the time.
The agency also insists that it has no evidence of extraterrestrial life and has yet to discover any signs of life – either present or past – on Mars.
Skeptics’ Doubts
Not everyone shares Waring’s enthusiasm. “No, it’s just a rock formation. I certainly believe entrances are possible there, but this just looks like a shadow,” commented one user on X.
Nevertheless, the 2022 photograph also caused an internet sensation at the time. “It looks like human workmanship,” some wrote. “This is not a work of nature! The angles are too sharp, like a rectangle, to have formed naturally. It was built by someone or something,” others asserted.
Waring has been sharing images of oddly shaped Martian rocks for about ten years, each time sparking heated online discussions.
It is noteworthy that this researcher recently suggested that an unusual rocky object captured in a photo on Mars might be the remains of “alien weaponry.”
