Following the second strike on the bridge connecting the occupied peninsula to mainland Ukraine, a “distinct hole” is observed.

The Chongar bridge in occupied Crimea may have been targeted by a Middle strike type drone, specifically the FP-2.

This opinion was shared by aviation analyst and leading researcher at the National Aviation University, Valeriy Romanenko, in a comment to “Fakty Tyzhnya” (formerly “Fabryka Novyn”).

According to the expert, after the second hit on the bridge, a “distinct hole” is visible, leading to the conclusion that a drone with a powerful warhead was used.

“At least a hundred kilograms were dropped there. The hole isn’t just large – it’s quite significant, about a meter in diameter, perhaps a meter and a half,” he stated.

Romanenko added that the FP-2 has a warhead weighing over 100 kg, which matches the nature of the damage. He also noted that the absence of mentions regarding missile fragments further indicates the use of a medium-range strike drone.

The military analyst also emphasized that the strike on the Chongar bridge holds strategic importance for disrupting Russian logistics in the south.

“We need to cut off Crimea. It must become an island… Russian troops on the front lines must be hungry, pale, impoverished, and receive neither fuel for their equipment, nor ammunition for their artillery, nor food, nor water… If there’s no logistics, there’s no striking potential,” he explained.

Strikes on the Chongar Bridge – What is Known

Ukraine’s defense forces have completely disabled the Chongar bridge following a series of attacks. The Russian occupation administration of Crimea is attempting to conceal the extent of the destruction.

Photos of the aftermath of the attacks on the Chongar bridge and the pontoon crossing constructed by the occupation authorities have been published online.

The Chongar bridge, which links Crimea to mainland Ukraine, remains one of the key logistical routes for the Russian army. Former General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine spokesperson, Vladyslav Seleznev, notes that systematic strikes on Chongar are gradually weakening enemy logistics on the peninsula.
