The Center for Countering Disinformation ridiculed the Kremlin’s claims of “daily advancement” of Russian troops in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Statements by Russian leader Vladimir Putin regarding the alleged daily advancement of Russian troops in the Zaporizhzhia region are disinformation from the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, Valery Gerasimov.

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko, stated this on June 4.

He sharply reacted to the statement by the Russian dictator about the daily “kilometer-long advance” in the Zaporizhzhia region.

According to Kovalenko, such statements may indicate that the Russian military leadership is providing distorted information to the Kremlin about the situation at the front.

“Judging by Putin’s ‘awareness’ of the front and statements about daily ‘kilometer-long advancement’ in the Zaporizhzhia region, one can conclude that Gerasimov is feeding the fool well and constantly lying,” he wrote.

Kovalenko also ironically recalled previous Russian claims about the alleged capture of Ukrainian cities.

“In the style of ‘Kupyansk has been taken’,” added the head of the CCD.

In his opinion, it is surprising that the Kremlin continues to rely solely on internal reports, ignoring real information.

“What kind of phantom must one be to not use the internet, but only deceitful reports,” Kovalenko noted.

Recall that Gerasimov reported to Putin about the capture of Kupyansk, among others, back in November 2025. However, the occupiers have not yet managed to take control of the city.

Let’s also add that on June 4, among numerous statements made by Putin, there was also one that his army had captured all of Luhansk Oblast and over 80% of Donetsk Oblast.
