Expensive designer garden furniture is no longer the only way to create a cozy outdoor relaxation spot. It turns out, you can make a stylish wooden bench with your own hands from readily available materials in less than an hour.

The foundation of the construction is pressure-treated lumber with a cross-section of 15×6 cm. This material is easily found in most home improvement and building supply stores. To make the bench, you will need to prepare:

Precise Angles
At first glance, the angled cuts for the legs and back might seem like the most daunting part of the job. However, the creator assures that even a beginner can easily handle it by using a speed square. This inexpensive tool helps quickly mark accurate angles without complex calculations.
The front legs require cuts at different angles, and for the rear backrest elements, several angled cuts are needed to create a comfortable incline for the structure. To further simplify the process, the gardener recommends using wood scraps as templates. This allows for quick marking and avoids cutting errors.
An Adult Building Set
After preparing all the parts, the assembly process resembles putting together a large building set. The frame elements are joined together to form the side supports of the future bench. The creator pays special attention to small additional wooden inserts, which increase the seating area and provide additional strength to the structure.
Once the side sections are ready, all that’s left is to attach the boards for the seat and backrest. It’s at this stage that the project begins to take its final shape and resembles a fully functional piece of garden furniture.
