The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine commented on the information about the visit of Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich to Kyiv, emphasizing that the Ukrainian authorities are ready to use any opportunities to bring about a just peace.
This was stated by MFA spokesperson Georgiy Tikhiy during a briefing.
According to him, one should not make assumptions or look for hidden motives in contacts that President Volodymyr Zelensky has already commented on.
“The President of Ukraine uses every, even the smallest, opportunity to bring about peace. This is the correct and exhaustive assessment of this contact,” Tikhiy noted.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled that the head of state had already explained the circumstances and purpose of the meeting with Abramovich, so there are no additional political comments on this matter at the moment.
How Abramovich Got to Kyiv
Meanwhile, journalists inquired how the Russian businessman managed to reach the Ukrainian capital under conditions of a closed airspace and martial law.
Answering the question, Georgiy Tikhiy did not reveal details of the trip’s organization, joking about the oligarch’s mode of transportation.
“Regarding the specific details of Abramovich’s visit organization, I will not surprise you with anything interesting. It can be said for sure that he did not fly by plane, obviously,” said the MFA spokesperson.
The travel route and other details of Roman Abramovich’s stay in Ukraine are not officially disclosed.
