Levita, Zoraide, and Zulina boast a combined age exceeding 316 years and have been each other’s support for decades.

Three sisters from Brazil, who have remained exceptionally close throughout their lives, have set a record for their longevity. Their collective age surpasses 316 years.

This is reported by Guinness World Records.

Zulina de Deus Nunes, Zoraide de Deus Mota, and Levita de Deus Nunes have made history as the three living sisters with the highest combined age. Their total age is 316 years and 302 days – a figure confirmed by the LongeviQuest organization, which studies longevity.

In May, researcher Iara Souza from an international organization studying the phenomenon of longevity visited Rio de Janeiro to personally meet the sisters and verify their story.

The eldest of the three sisters, Levita, turned 109. Her sister Zoraide is 104 years old, and the youngest, Zulina, is 103.

Levita was born on June 7, 1917, and was the second eldest among eight children in the family. From a young age, she bore significant responsibility – she helped manage the household and cared for her younger siblings while her parents worked in the fields.

The woman never married and did not have children of her own, but she dedicated her entire life to her family. Like her mother, she was passionate about needlework – crochet, knitting, and sewing, and maintained this passion even in her advanced years.

Needlework was not only her hobby but also a source of income. Additionally, Levita worked at the Brazilian television channel Rede Globo for 12 years.

The middle sister, Zoraide, was born on November 24, 1921. She dedicated her life to education and medicine: initially, she worked as a primary school teacher, and later became a nurse.

She worked in several hospitals before retiring.

In 1950, Zoraide married Eneas Alves da Motta. The couple had five children.

The youngest sister, Zulina, was born on March 4, 1923. Like Levita, she loved needlework from childhood, especially sewing and embroidery.

On July 17, 1945, Zulina married Jose Benvindo dos Santos. While her husband worked on the railway, she managed the household and raised six children.

After her divorce, Zulina moved to Rio de Janeiro, where Zoraide already lived. Later, Levita joined them to help her sister adjust to a new life with her children.

For decades, the sisters remained inseparable. They supported each other through difficult times and shared all of life’s changes together.

It is this strong family bond, according to loved ones, that has become one of the main features of their remarkable longevity story.
