Moscow is habitually distorting facts regarding the strike on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.

Russia is making every effort to justify the strike on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra on June 15, fabricating false narratives about those night events. Specifically, Moscow cynically shifts the blame onto Ukraine.
This is evidenced by the deceitful statement from Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova.
In her typical manner, the Foreign Ministry representative has launched a new wave of disinformation, claiming a supposed strike on the Dormition Cathedral by a Patriot missile. Furthermore, according to her, the West is even implicated in the attack, allegedly supplying “low-quality weaponry.”
It should be noted that Zakharova did not mention that the Lavra, whose abbot for a long time was Metropolitan Pavlo Lebid “Mercedes” of the UOC, who justified the aggression of the Russian Federation, was attacked by two Russian “Shaheds.”
Meanwhile, the Security Service of Ukraine has presented direct evidence that it was a Russian Shahed (Geran-2 modification) that hit the cathedral. Fragments of the drone’s body and engine were found at the crash site. In particular, markings indicate that some components were manufactured in the Russian Federation in the Alabuga special economic zone.
Recall, after the strike on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, the Kremlin issued a loud statement, attempting to absolve itself of blame. Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that allegedly “confirmed reports” indicated that a Patriot interceptor missile struck the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. However, as emphasized by ISW, the Russian information space is attempting to deny its culpability in this manner.
It is worth noting that, meanwhile, Ukrainians are debating the concept of “culture beyond politics” following the strike on the Lavra in Kyiv. Against this backdrop, Threads users recall the demolition of the monument to the Russian writer Mikhail Bulgakov. However, another segment opposes this, clearly separating politics and culture.
