The Russian shelling of Kyiv, which damaged the Uspensky Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and the Dovzhenko Film Studios, deeply affected singer Svitlana Tarabarova.
The artist shared her emotions after the tragic night when significant landmarks of the capital came under attack. According to Tarabarova, some of the damaged sites are connected to special moments in her life. The singer admitted she couldn’t hold back tears recalling past events. She was particularly struck by the news about the consequences of the attack on the Uspensky Cathedral. News of the destruction of other important Kyiv locations also caused her pain.
“I wanted to talk a bit about ‘my Kyiv.’ About the majestic Uspensky Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, where I, as an adult in 2009, was baptized. About the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio, where we shot numerous television projects and our most ambitious music video – ‘Manifest.’ About the incredible A+ school in Komfort Town, where we recorded kind songs with children and staged bright performances… It’s painful,” the performer wrote.

Tarabarova did not hide that she is distressed by every new strike on Ukrainian cities. She noted that these emotions have been accumulating for years, and new tragedies only intensify the pain for her homeland and people.
“And also constantly – my Kherson, my Dnipro, my Kharkiv… Honestly, as I write this, tears are in my eyes… And as long as the children are not around, I don’t even try to hold them back. Perhaps this will work as therapy. And then the children will come, I will gather myself piece by piece from the floor and go on living, loving, and believing that we and our children will be able to endure, preserve, and restore everything that is so dear to us,” the singer confessed.
The artist’s post garnered many responses from followers who supported her and shared their own experiences of the enemy’s latest attack. Many agreed that the destruction of Ukraine’s cultural and spiritual symbols is perceived as particularly painful.
Recall that recently, “Women’s Quarter” star Valeria Tovstolyes reported an enemy hit in her yard and emotionally lashed out at the Russians.
