The «Shehyni – Medica» border crossing point, which the Polish side was supposed to fully close for buses for a year and a half starting from June 15, 2026, will still operate – but solely for buses.

Had to close for a year and a half from June 15: what will happen to the Shehyni crossing point
Passenger and international road carriers can breathe easy: one of the most popular crossing points on the Ukrainian-Polish border, «Shehyni – Medica», will operate without restrictions for buses throughout the summer. Ukraine and Poland have managed to find a compromise regarding the planned large-scale renovation.
This was announced by the Vice Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine – Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, Oleksandr Kubrakov.
Kubrakov confirmed that Poland indeed intended to temporarily suspend the processing of buses entering Poland due to repair work.
Following negotiations, an agreement was reached: bus traffic through the «Shehyni – Medica» crossing point will not be halted during the summer season, even while renovation works are underway.
«This will allow us to maintain stable transport links between Ukraine and Poland for passengers and international carriers,» Kubrakov assured.
We remind you that Poland wanted to close the «Shehyni – Medica» crossing point for almost a year and a half – from June 15, 2026, to November 2027.
