Significant casualties among the invaders in Donbas have undermined the enemy’s combat readiness and compelled Western analysts to fundamentally reassess the offensive capabilities of the Russian Federation’s army.

In June 2026, representatives of the North Atlantic Alliance released new data regarding the immense Russian losses in the war against Ukraine. Despite the enemy army having already lost over 1.4 million soldiers, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin remains completely resolute in his expansionist ambitions.
This is reported by “European Pravda” with reference to a high-ranking NATO official.
Immense Losses and the Battlefield Situation
According to the Western official’s estimates, Russia has suffered between 1.3 and 1.45 million total casualties, of which approximately half a million are confirmed killed. Although the enemy maintained the initiative on the front this year, their localized successes were significantly less stable and consistent.
The Alliance representative also emphasized that the economic situation in the aggressor state continues to rapidly deteriorate.
“Furthermore, we see no signs of significant changes in the pace of combat operations or preparations for a major Russian offensive in the near future due to the reduced effectiveness of Russian troops on the battlefield,” he concluded.
Hottest Directions and Battles for Cities
Currently, Russian invaders continue to operate with exceptionally high intensity along almost the entire line of contact. The situation remains particularly difficult in the Pokrovsk direction, where enemy units are striving to consolidate gains and advance towards Dobropillya.
At the same time, occupation forces are attempting to gain full control of Kostyantynivka, where heavy urban combat is expected in the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, the ability of Ukrainian defenders to conduct supply operations is seriously hampered by enemy drones, while advances by the Russians in the Zaporizhzhia direction remain minimal.
Recall that Ukraine has found a vulnerable spot in the Russian army, and the effect is already noticeable on the front. Defense forces are increasingly targeting Russian logistics in the rear with the aim of disrupting the supply lines of the Russian army and reducing its offensive capabilities.
