The new head of the Latvian Ministry of Defense, Raivis Melnis, has publicly endorsed Ukraine’s right to attack military objectives within the Russian Federation.
He made these remarks to journalists, as reported by Ukrinform.
According to the minister, Ukraine possesses a legitimate right to defend its nation by any means available, including launching strikes against targets in Russia.
Furthermore, Melnis emphasized that Latvia will bolster its own air defense system in response to the threat posed by Russia.
“We need to build our own air defense system to intercept all drones flying towards Latvia. It is Russia that is directing them towards Latvia. We will intercept all drones and support Ukraine in its struggle,” he declared.
Consequently, Latvia has once again affirmed its consistent support for Ukraine amidst the ongoing Russian aggression.
As a reminder, Latvia is preparing for a potential Russian attack
