Spain remains one of the most popular countries among Ukrainians considering moving abroad. However, according to a Ukrainian woman who has been living in Valencia for some time, life there has not only advantages but also significant drawbacks that are worth knowing in advance.

She shared her observations on social media.

Heat that is difficult to get used to

The woman names the climate as the first feature. She notes that Spain is very diverse in terms of weather conditions, but in many southern regions, summers can be extremely hot.

In particular, in Valencia, where she lives, high summer temperatures can be exhausting, especially for those not accustomed to prolonged heat.

Slow pace of life

Another point that, according to the Ukrainian woman, can surprise foreigners is the work style and attitude of local residents.

“Sometimes their slowness and carelessness are really annoying,” she noted.

In her opinion, people who are used to a fast pace of life and prompt problem-solving will have to adapt to the local mentality.

Lack of 24-hour stores

The blogger also pointed out that there are almost no stores in Spain that operate 24 hours a day.

In large cities, it is still possible to find such outlets, but generally, it is more of an exception than a rule. Therefore, shopping often has to be planned in advance.

It is harder to find a job

The Ukrainian woman considers the situation in the labor market to be the most serious drawback for those planning to move.

According to her, finding a job in Spain can be more difficult than in some other Western European countries, particularly in the Netherlands, Belgium, or Germany.

At the same time, she clarified that this problem almost does not affect people who work remotely or have a stable online income.

Despite the listed disadvantages, the Ukrainian woman emphasized that, personally for her, the advantages of living in Spain still outweigh the drawbacks. However, before moving, she advises to soberly assess all possible difficulties and understand whether you are ready for such country’s peculiarities.

Previously, it was reported about ancient towns worth visiting for a vacation. This list is for those who want to experience European flavor without excessive spending; it is worth paying attention to less well-known cities.
