Ukraine’s President has received an invitation to the G7 summit, but the possibility of his meeting with Donald Trump remains uncertain.

A potential meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 summit has not yet been confirmed.
This was announced by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Georgiy Tikhoy, during a briefing.
According to him, it is too early to discuss such a meeting as the schedules of world leaders have not yet been finalized.
“Perhaps it is too early to talk about it, as the schedules of leaders, not only ours but also others, have not yet been coordinated. But we are always open to contacts and meetings with the American side,” Tikhoy noted.
The MFA spokesperson stated that Zelensky recently had contact with representatives of Trump’s team. He also spoke about efforts to achieve concrete results ahead of the G7 summit.
“A few days ago, the president had contact with representatives of President Trump’s team. There was a conversation, and we are trying to achieve concrete results and important news precisely on the eve of the G7 summit. I will not go into details for now,” Tikhoy added.
The MFA emphasized that it is premature to discuss a meeting between the President of Ukraine and Trump until the schedules are coordinated.
“And, of course, if there is an opportunity to arrange a meeting of the presidents, we will only welcome it. But perhaps it is too early to talk about it – we need to wait for the schedules to be agreed upon,” the MFA spokesperson stressed.
Tikhoy also confirmed that the President of Ukraine received an invitation to the G7 summit.
It is worth recalling that earlier it became known that Volodymyr Zelensky had a “positive” conversation with US Special Representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. It is reported that the parties are preparing to intensify diplomatic efforts to end the war in the coming weeks.
