Denmark continues to be among the European nations that Ukrainians frequently consider for relocation. The high level of safety, social support, and economic stability make it appealing to many families. However, life in the country has its own particularities that one should be aware of beforehand.

This was shared by blogger daria.chop.

Having lived in Denmark for some time, she has shared her personal experiences and discussed the advantages and challenges newcomers might encounter.

Advantages of Living in Denmark

According to her, one of the country’s primary advantages remains its high level of security. She also notes the friendly attitude towards Ukrainians and a clear social support system.

The best employment prospects, the Ukrainian woman states, are for those in skilled trades. Specifically, this includes electricians, mechanics, agricultural workers, and other specialists for whom there is ongoing demand in the labor market.

What Has Changed in 2026

Conversely, the blogger believes that the conditions for new immigrants have become less accommodating this year compared to a few years ago. She points out that receiving social assistance is now tied to fulfilling certain requirements set by local authorities.

“You will have many obligations from the municipality: internships, schooling, constant demands to find a job,” the young woman shared.

In particular, recipients of support may be required to attend language courses, participate in practical training or integration programs, and actively seek employment. Furthermore, the payments of €400 must be “truly earned.”

Finding Work Has Become More Difficult

Another issue the Ukrainian woman highlights is the competition in the job market. If an individual lacks in-demand qualifications or professional experience, the job search can become prolonged.

In her words, even positions that were previously considered accessible to newcomers are now attracting a greater number of applicants.

The Housing Situation

Denmark continues to have programs for accommodating refugees and providing housing. However, as the Ukrainian woman notes, the quality of such housing can vary depending on the municipality and available resources.

Is Relocation Worth It?

In the blogger’s opinion, Denmark remains a good option for those prepared to integrate, learn the language, and actively seek employment. However, relying solely on social benefits or quick employment without a profession is no longer realistic.
