The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced that the pivotal mission for the new government, led by Serhiy Koretsky, will be preparing the country for the upcoming winter and ensuring preparedness for any eventuality during the war.

The Head of State conveyed this during his evening address.

According to him, Koretsky’s experience in managing state energy companies will be a significant asset for the Cabinet of Ministers.

The President recalled that after Koretsky took charge of “Ukrnafta,” the company began operating more efficiently, following the cessation of oligarchic control. “Naftogaz,” which he headed, managed to navigate a challenging heating season despite massive Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.

“His strong suit is working precisely in state energy companies. He came to ‘Ukrnafta’ and changed the company’s processes after oligarchic control. ‘Ukrnafta,’ thanks to Serhiy, started working truly for our state. ‘Naftogaz’ went through a difficult winter, and despite all Russian strikes, Ukraine had gas,” he stated.

Concurrently, Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine continues to enhance its long-range capabilities to complicate Russia’s warfare and disrupt its offensive plans.

However, he noted that even with such developments, the country must be prepared for any scenario.

“Under any scenario, Ukraine must be fully ready to protect life, protect its people, and ensure passage through the winter. This is our main common Ukrainian task for the new government,” he underscored.

The President also announced changes in interaction with international partners. He stated that the new government should ensure faster fulfillment of already reached agreements with allies.

As a reminder, on July 16, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted to appoint a new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers, with 264 deputies voting in favor.

The former head of “Naftogaz,” Serhiy Koretsky, became the new Prime Minister of Ukraine. Experts consider him a strong performer and leader.
