Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada deputy, Mykola Tyshchenko, became the target of a “tomato attack” and attempted to pursue his aggressor.

People’s deputy Mykola Tyshchenko, who is facing accusations of corruption offenses, was pelted with tomatoes on a Kyiv street immediately after a session of the High Anti-Corruption Court.
The relevant video was published on his Telegram channel, notably by Serhiy Sternenko, advisor to the Minister of Defense.
The published footage shows a young man provoking the deputy into taking action while simultaneously throwing tomatoes at him.
Tyshchenko managed to dodge the “projectiles,” but in response to the provocation, he began to challenge the attacker to a fight and subsequently tried to catch up with him. However, the attempt proved unsuccessful, as the aggressor was quicker.
It was later revealed that the tomatoes were thrown at Tyshchenko by Viktor Lakhno, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war with the call sign “Leleka.” The defender of “Azovstal” posted a video of the incident on his Instagram page himself, captioning it with the phrase “come on, don’t be offended.”
This is not the first similar action by Lakhno against government officials.
Earlier, the “Azov” fighter, who was held captive by Russians and is now engaged in public activities, threw two eggs at the former head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, when he was also walking on a Kyiv street after a High Anti-Corruption Court session. He did not manage to hit the former official then either.
Recall that on July 3, the High Anti-Corruption Court considered the petition of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office regarding a measure of restraint for People’s Deputy Mykola Tyshchenko. Before the session, the politician claimed the case was allegedly fabricated and rejected all accusations.
