President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the site of a massive Russian strike in Kyiv and announced new figures regarding the extent of the devastation. According to him, 131 residential buildings were damaged, and the search and rescue operation is ongoing, as people may still be trapped under the debris.
This was reported by TSN correspondent Olena Chernyakova from the scene.
The president emphasized that hundreds of specialists worked at the impact sites following the massive attack.
“We thank everyone very much – the minister, the State Emergency Service, all the services that worked. 600 people were working. I believe this is the most important thing. All teams did everything they could to save people’s lives,” Zelenskyy stated.
The head of state reported that the consequences of the strike were among the most extensive during the entire full-scale war.
“In Kyiv, 131 buildings are completely or partially destroyed. This is very massive. Probably one of the most massive attacks throughout the entire war,” the president declared.
According to him, over 100 people sought medical and psychological assistance after the attack.
The president noted that rescuers managed to save 17 people, but work at the impact sites is not yet finished.
“Work is still ongoing. We understand that there are people whose fate is currently unknown. God grant that they are found alive,” Zelenskyy stressed.
He assured that all services continue to work at the strike locations and are providing assistance to the affected residents of the capital.
Attack on Kyiv – what is known
We remind you that the Russians began their attack on Kyiv on the evening of July 1. The Russians launched drones, followed by ballistic and cruise missiles. Over 30 locations with damage and destruction were recorded.
Following the massive strike, the number of fatalities rose to 21 people. 85 individuals were injured, including two children. Emergency rescue operations at the impact sites are continuing, so the number of victims may still increase.
