If Belarusian self-proclaimed president Alexander Lukashenko orders an attack on Ukraine, his army will massively desert, surrender, or revolt.
This was stated by the leader of the Belarusian opposition, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, in a comment to Novyny.LIVE.
The Belarusian army has absolutely no desire to confront the Defense Forces of Ukraine, Tsikhanouskaya assured.
Soldiers of the Belarusian army understand that they are no match for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, added the leader of the Belarusian opposition.
“Although the probability of a direct clash is minimal, the threat from the territory of Belarus does not disappear. Lukashenko, saving his own skin, is ready to continue to cede the country for the needs of the Russian troops. Our infrastructure, roads, railways – all of this can be used. But this is done by the hands of the regime. And the regime will always be on Russia’s side. […] But we must distinguish between the Belarusian regime and the Belarusian people. We have no anti-Ukrainian sentiments at all,” Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya concluded.
As a reminder, on Friday, June 26, Alexander Lukashenko flew to Putin’s residence in Valdai for negotiations. According to The Moscow Times, the meeting between the Russian and Belarusian dictators is taking place in an extremely tense context.
The day before, on Thursday, June 25, Lukashenko publicly asked the Russian ambassador Boris Grizlov not to “drag” Belarus into the war with Ukraine and confirmed for the first time openly that the Kremlin is pressuring Minsk to involve it more actively in combat operations.
