Last weekend, 10 climbers perished in the European mountains. Tragedies unfolded in the Alps across Italy, France, and Switzerland, as well as in the mountains of Germany.

This information was reported by Bild.

Experts emphasize that all victims were seasoned climbers. Furthermore, adverse weather was not the cause of these fatalities – the mountaineers were ascending in pleasant summer conditions. Currently, rescuers are classifying these incidents strictly as accidents. However, the precise reasons for each group’s falls remain undetermined.

The initial tragedies took place on June 12th. In the Italian Alps, rescuers recovered the bodies of three climbers at an altitude of 3600 meters. On the same day, three more individuals met their end on the Mont Blanc massif: two within French territory, and one on Italian soil.

The following day, June 13th, a fatal incident occurred on the Swiss mountain Matterhorn. A French mountaineer died at the Tindall peak while traversing the standard route. His body was located by the local air rescue service, Air Zermatt.

Additionally, on Saturday, a tragedy struck in the Karwendel mountains near Mittenwald. A 22-year-year-old man from Munich, who was roped up with a peer at approximately 2000 meters, fell from a height of 130 meters and succumbed to his injuries.

The final two fatal accidents were recorded on June 14th on Monte Pasubio, situated on the border of the Italian provinces of Vicenza and Trento. A 25-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man fell from a 100-meter height on a challenging section of the rock face.

A third climber from their group was successfully airlifted to safety by a rescue helicopter. On the same day, mountain services continued to investigate the details of all the accidents.

We remind you that a 39-year-old Chinese man drifted at sea for seven days after being washed off a beach by waves.
