Ukraine discussed with Donald Trump the idea of a meeting with Volodymyr Putin in the USA. The format was specifically devised to make it very difficult for the Russian leader to refuse.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Trump’s meeting with Zelenskyy – what was agreed upon
According to him, previous attempts to organize negotiations to end the war have not yielded results due to the Kremlin’s stance. In particular, Russia rejected proposals to meet in any other location. Putin also refused negotiations on the sidelines of the G7 summit with the participation of democratic countries, which was discussed with the USA and France.
“We will see what comes of this. If Russia also refuses this chance, additional pressure will be needed,” Zelenskyy noted.
The full list of conditions and details of the negotiation process regarding the meeting in the USA are not being disclosed at this time. The Ukrainian leader emphasized that Putin’s previous position showed an unwillingness to make real decisions to stop the hostilities.

We remind you that the Russian side has not yet provided a clear answer to the proposal, conveyed through intermediaries, to hold negotiations between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Putin with the participation of the leaders of the USA, EU countries, Canada, and Japan.
It is worth adding that the G7 summit is starting in France. The leaders of the countries will discuss support for Ukraine, security in the Middle East, and ways to improve the global economy.
The G7 summit is being held from June 15-17 in Évian-les-Bains, France.
