The appearance of the inscription “86 47” near the White House is being investigated in the USA as a possible threat to President Donald Trump.

The inscription appeared on the grass of the National Mall between the Washington Monument and the World War II Memorial. Investigators have already collected soil and grass samples for examination.
The White House and the US Department of Homeland Security stated that any threats to the president are taken extremely seriously.
The number “47” is considered a reference to Donald Trump as the 47th President of the USA. Meanwhile, there are disputes surrounding “86”: in everyday language, this slang means “get rid of” or “eliminate,” but in criminal circles, it is also interpreted as a hint at murder.
Earlier, former FBI Director James Comey was investigated over a similar inscription “86 47” after posting a photo with such numbers laid out with shells on the beach.
Assassination Attempts on Trump — What is Known
During the 2024 election campaign, Trump survived two assassination attempts. On July 14, at a rally in Pennsylvania, 20-year-old local resident Thomas Matthew Crooks managed to bypass all security perimeters, positioned himself on the roof of a neighboring building, and opened fire with an assault rifle equipped with an optical sight. Trump miraculously avoided death — one of the bullets passed very close to his head, grazing his ear. Security forces shielded the politician with their bodies, but he managed to get up and raise his hand. Snipers eliminated the attacker in return fire.
On September 15, another attempt was made on Trump’s life during a golf game. The attacker was apprehended, and the politician was unharmed. The tragedy was averted by a Secret Service agent who noticed a barrel protruding from the bushes and reacted instantly by opening fire.
On February 22, US Secret Service agents shot and killed an armed man after he breached the protected perimeter of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence.
On April 26, during a White House Correspondents’ Association dinner attended by US President Donald Trump and the First Lady, a shooting occurred. The principal figures were evacuated, and the event was postponed for a month. The alleged shooter was apprehended.
